CYCLING DISPUTE Because notice of the motion for consideration had not been given to centres in accordance with the rules, a suggested resolution of withdrawal from the New Zealand Cycling Federation was ruled out of order by the president of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association (Mr. _R. Thomas) at a meeting this week. Owing to various difficulties arising from a desire of the federation to interfere in the control of amateur cycling in New Zealand, the association's chairman (Mr. J. Fitzsimmons) had circulated a proposed resolution by which the association would withdraw from affiliation with the federation. Mr. Thomas ruled the motion out of order because only thirteen days' notice had been given to centres instead of the statutory fourteen. He alleged that by interfering with the' control .of amateur cycling the federation was prejudicing the future of the sport.
