ANOTHER LITTLE DRINK DID SOME HARM When charged in the Magistrate's Court today before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., with his fourth offence - of drunkenness within the last six months, Michael Cooney, a labourer, aged 58, pleaded guilty, adding, "I have finished with drink." "How many times have you finished with drink before?" asked Mr. Mosley. The accused was silent, and Mr. Mosley, after consulting records, exclaimed, "The forty-first." A sentence of one month's imprisonment, with hard labour was imposed, and an order was made that a prohibition order be taken out against Cooney.
