The Hon. Mrs. Malcolm, England, is staying at the Midland Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brandon and their children, who have been staying with Mr. and Mrs. A. de B. Brandon, Hobson Street, left for their home near Featherston' on Saturday. Lady Myers, London, who has been spending several months in New Zealand, left Auckland-by the Monterey on Saturday for the United States, en route to England. Mrs. C. R. Parley Nott, who has been visiting friends in Wellington and Auckland, left Auckland on Saturday by the Monterey on her return journey to Suva. Mrs. Thelma Colman, former wife of Mr. Ronald Colman, the film actor, visited Auckland last week on her way from Sydney to Vancouver. Mrs. Colman was herself on the stage, and several times visited New Zealand with J. C. Williamson companies. Her last visit was paid 15 years ago when she toured the North and South Island with "Our Miss Gibbs" and other musical comedies. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Livingstone and Mr. David Livingstone returned to Christchurch on Friday from a visit to Wellington. Miss Evelyn Gardiner, well known Gilbert and Sullivan contralto, left Auckland by the Monterey on Saturday for America. From Los Angeles she will travel to New York, where she will .join the Berengaria for London. Miss Gardiner has been recalled to fill the role of principal contralto in the Savoy Opera Company, directed by Mr. Rupert d'Oyley Carte, and then in August she will appear on Broadway. After her New York season Mica Gardiner will tour the United States before returning to England. Dr. Ada Paterson returned to Wellington yesterday from the south. Mi«s D. Bray (secretary of the Wellington Racing Club), Mrs. K. Duncan (Hunterville), Mrs. G. L. Rutherford and Miss - Betty Rutherford (Christchurch), Mrs.-T. Newm«n and Mrs. Gray Sutherland (Nelson) were among "the visitors at the Auckland races on Saturday. Miss Joan Tasman has returned to Wellington after a visit to Mrs. E. Howden, Park Lane, Timaru. Miss Maud Howdenv/ho has been visiting Wellington has returned to Timaru. Mrs. W. S. Newburgh, Christchurch, is staying at-4heJHotel St. George. Very pleasant, preparations are being | made for the annual ball of the Internal Affairs Department. This will take place later on during this month, and promises to be a most successful function. Mrs. G. Dickson has returned to Wellington after a month's holiday in Waganui, Napier, and Hastings. . Mrs. W. Schneideman, Christchurch, is staying at the Grand Hotel. Miss Myra Harrap, Kelburn, is visiting " Christchurch, where she is the guest of Miss Eleanor Murray, Papanui. Mrs. A. H. Russell, Gisborne, is stayling at the Midland Hotel. Mrs. G. Angus (Napier), Mrs. A. Fastier (Melbourne), Mrs. L. Lilburn (Raetihi), Mrs. T. R. Yaldwyn, and Mrs. C. F. Washer (Tauranga) are staying at the Empire Hotel. Miss Norah Ward and Miss T. Peckston, who have been the guests of Mrs. E. D. Colson, New Plymouth, returned to Wellington by car on Saturday.
