1 The best golf in the A teams match, Wellington v. Hutt, at Heretaunga was , played by J. L. Black, who was out : in 37, with a 7 in it, and back in 35, j as f0110w5:—444542444. Toogood was 1 patchy, but interesting. His drive at 1 the first was out of bounds and Black < took the hole in 4. From short chips 1 at the second Toogood was across the '< green, Black getting down with a 20- ■ footer in 3. . Toogood got a: beautiful j 2 at the third, where Black was wide : of the green. Both hooked into the ' willows at the fourth, where Black • sank a 15-footer to win in 5. Both got beautiful 2's at the next with long ! putts. A scratchy sixth went to Too- , good in 6. Black won the seventh in 4 and the eighth in 5, but lost the ninth through missing a short one, ; turning 2 up. Black won the tenth and thirteenth in 4's, and the remainder of the holes to where the game ended were halved, the fifteenth in 2's. Black's approach putting was marvellous. • Four times he was on the lip but missed at least four putts of a yard on the round. Toogood, though he got three 2's, was five over 4's when the game ended.
