DENTAL AND MEDICAL
NET PROFITS INCREASED
The Dental and Medical Supply Company's report and balance-sheet for the year ended March 31, states that the business for the past year showed a steady--improvement on the several preceding years. The net profit for 1936 was £1992, as compared with £1723 for the previous year. Ample provision has been made for bad and doubtful debts, and stocks have been taken at cost or market price, whichever is the lower. Furniture, fixtures, fittings, motor-cars, and premises have all been written down at the usual rates.
The net profit for the year, £1992 13s' Id, with the balance brought forward, £315 9s 9d, makes a total of £2308 2s lOd available for distribution. The directors recommend the payment of a. dividend of 3 per cent, for the year (as compared with 1\ per cent, last year), which will absorb £1733 18s lOd, and leave a balance of £574 4s to be carried forward to next year.
Dr. E. W. Giesen, director, who retires, is eligible and offers himself for re-election;
