(Special from "Limited.")

HAWERA, This Day

■ Fine weather conditions prevailed at the Hawera racecourse for the windingup gallops yesterday morning in preparation for the Egmont Racing Club's Meeting tomorrow and on Saturday. The course remains in fine order. Friesland, as usual, was responsible for the best sprint effort of the morning, and Sir Tommy, Boughal, Flammarion, and Leo Colossus also went attractively in their work.

The jumpers Soloist (Webby) . and Copey (Clark) went a working gallop over a mile, Soloist finishing several lengths in front of Copey, who pulled up sore and whose chance tomorrow looks remote.

Friesland (Grylls) and Knock Out (Monkley), from a flying start, went a good half-mile, the former, finishing half a length in.front in 51£ sec. Careful (Cook) finished three lengths in front of Corowa (Clifford), who ran about a lot in the straight, in lmin Bsec. Flammarion (Bates) pleased by getting to the end of a three-furlong sprint in a tick under 40sec.

Boughal (Mclnally) was going well within himself at the end of three furlongs covered in 42sec. Brigadore trotted and cantered on the trial grass.

Beau Star (Grindlay) galloped a mile in lmin 55 2-ssec, after covering the first half in 55sec. Going easily over the first part, Leo Colossus (Clifford) ran six furlongs in lmin 24sec, finishing solidly over the final- three furlongs in 40 l-ssec. Alchemic ' was allotted steady pace work.

St. Clara (Cook) led Golden Rill (Cole) throughout a six-furlong gallop, beating her mate home by a length and a half in lmin 22sec. Sir Tommy (Clifford) broke away with a three lengths' advantage from Silvanus (Cole) and Valroy (Monkley) in a five-furlong gallop, maintaining his advantage to win nicely from Valroy, with Silvanus two lengths .further back, in lmin 6 l-ssec.

Rasouli went attractively in a working gallop over a mile traversed easily in lmin 56 3-ssec, his last half-mile being covered in 56sec. . Arctic Star strode out well at three-quarter pace work.

L. Bennett arrived on: Monday with Brigadore and De Trop. On account of slight soreness Invictus was not brought through and has been scratched for his engagements. N. Trillo rides Brigadore in the r hurdle race, and De Trop will be ridden by R. Marsh.

Flammarion will be ridden by B. H. Morris, and W. J. Broughton is to have the mount on Alchemic. Boughal is to be ridden by Mclnally in the Flying Handicap.
