GORDON'S EXPENSES
According to a Wanganui report, C. Gordon, of Patea, the featherweight boxer in the New Zealand Olympic team, was last night presented by the Mayor of Patea with a sum of £122 a leather bag, and a Nazi Swastika tie. In this connection the secretary of the New Zealand Boxing Council (Mr. G. P. Aldridge) points out that the money collected for Gordon does not go to him personally; but to the New Zealand Olympic Council as a contribution towards his expenses, including the necessary equipment. Gordon's case is the same as that of the other athletes for whom collections were I made.
