Although there were wintry blasts without, there was a cheerful and cosy atmosphere at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. Hutchison on Saturday afternoon, when they gave a small party in honour of Sir James-, and Lady Hutchison. ... •';• Mis Hutchison greeted her guests wearing;a pretty frock of floral silk ciepe, Lady Hutchison wearing a smart black frock, .relieved with touches of white ThereTwas a cheerful scene in the sitting-room where the guests gatheied, welcoming the warm log fire and chatting over the delicious refreshments. "; Among these present were Mr. and Mrs. E P. Bunny and Miss Bunny, Colonel and: Mrs. Macdonald, Mrs. E. C Riddiford, Professor and Mrs. yon Zedhtz, Dr. and Mrs. Aldred, Mr:-and Mis N. B. Gibbons, Captain and Mrs. Olphert, "Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Phillips, Mrs Ikui, Mrs. Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley, Duncan, Mrs. P. Marshall, Mr. and, Mrs. J. Rainey, Dr. and Mrs. Doctor, Mr. Alec Graham. i Personals. Sir James and Lady Hutchison, Duncdin, aie the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Hutchison, Hutt Road. Mrs. E. C. Riddiford, Woburn Road, will leave next Tuesday for Auckland,' wheie she ]i to join the Rangitane en route for England. .She expects to be away for some months.
Miss R. Gower is at present spending a holiday in Auckland.
