SUCCESSFUL KORERO

R.S.A, LADIES' AUXILIARY

A successful "ladies' korero" was held at the Airport Tearooms when about 40 ladies were present. The function was arranged by'the Miramar R.S.A. Ladies' Auxiliary Committee for the social benefit of members and friends of the newly-formed Ladies' Auxiliary Club.

Mrs. O. G. Smith (cnairwoman of the local R.S.A. Ladies' Auxiliary Committee) presided, and in welcoming those attending asked them to endeavour to interest others to become members of the club. It was the desire of the ladies' committee to foster the social spirit as much as possible.

The programme began with a game which caused a good deal of amusement, the winners being Mrs. Trower and Mrs. Joan Flack. Mrs. Pat Trower gave entertaining elocutionary items, with much success. Songs were rendered by Mrs.-Climo and Mrs. Morgan, these being much appreciated, as were also two dances by Miss June Thomson. Miss Betty Goodwin was an efficient accompanist.

The items were interspersed with competitions which caused a pleasant diversity. A jumble streets competition was won by Mrs. Ward and the advertisements one by Mrs. Bell. Mrs. Climo was the winner of "the'doctor's" competition. The cake (kindly donated by Mrs. Goodwin) was won by Mrs. G. Wilson. v ' -- ' .

A number of new members were enrolled and a very happy and successful korero concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem.
