SCHOOLBOY INJURED

AUCKLAISTD, This Day.

Struck on the head by the buffer of a tablet exchange while leaning out of a railway carriage window as a train entered New ■ Lynn station on Friday afternoon, Lloyd Gordon Strid, fifteen-year-old son of Mr. Nils Strid, Henderson, received serious head, injuries and was admitted to Auckland Hospital. His condition tonight was reported to be serious. > . ~ t Strid, who is a,pupil at the Mount Albert Grammar School, was on his way home shortly after 4 p.m. when the accident; occurred. He was leaning out of a window of the carnage immediately behind the locomotive. Fortunately he was not struck by the sharp-pointed part .of the tablet. His forehead was severely' gashed. The train was stopped immediately and the boy was attended toi by the crew.
