LYALL BAY

In, spite of the cold and threatening state of the weather, there was an attendance Of some ■ hundreds at the tyall Bay School service. The local auxiliary of the R.S.A.- marched from headquarters in Bay Road, headed by a band from the Salvation Army.

The service was conducted by the Rev. E. J. Orange and the speaker was Mr. P. Coira, of the. Returned Soldiers' Association. . .

Mr. Donald Gunn, chairman of the executive of the. local branch of the R.S.A., expressed, the thanks• of his committee to the parents and scholars for the beautiful floral tributes which were exhibited at the service, prior to being placed on the Cenotaph..

The sounding of the "Last Post" and ■the playing of the National Anthem concluded a very impressive service.

I the Miramar Band, Boy' Scouts, Cubs, and over seventy returned soldiers. The principal address was given by Lieu-tenant-Colonel A. Cowles, and the devotional portion of the service wus conducted by the Rev. A. T. BristeuPage. Verses were recited by Stancic Stone, and several senior pupils recited "The Men in Gate." The service concluded .with the'singing of the National Anthem, arid the playing of the "Last Post" and "Reveille" by Mr. Stevenson.
