The term of office of the Queenslan* Railway Commissioner expires i< October. Rumour is rife that the posi tion will be offered to the New Zea lander Mr. H. H. Sterling.

Some Ministers are reported ti favour the appointment of a board oi three commissioners with the chiej commissioner as chairman, while otherj favour an extension of the, term of office of the present Commissioner (Mi J. W. Davidson).
