GUARANTEED PRICES

MARKETING- CONTEOL

BILL COMING TOMORROW

The Primary Products Marketing Bill, which will give legislative effect to the Government's plan of guaranteed prices for dairy produce and which incidentally alters the system of controlling the dairy industry, will be introduced in the House of Representatives tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow morning the terms of the-Bill will be explained to a caucus of the Government Party.

The Prime Minister (the Hon. M. J. Savage) said today that the guaranteed price would not be stated in the Bill but would be fixed by Order in Council. He pointed out that it would be too cumbersome to have to amend the Act any time that a change in price was/necessitated.

Mr. Savage stated that in connection with the second reading debate on the Primary Products Marketing Bill, which will commence at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, it is proposed to broadcast the speakers, that evening, the first two speakers being on the air for one hour each, and the following two for half an hour each.

On the following evening, Thursday next, six speakers will be on. the air for half an hour each, commencing at 7.30 p.m.
