PROCESSION OF WITNESS

A combined service and procession, of witness in which the following churches took part was held last evening:—St. Mark's Anglican Church, Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church, Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church, Vivian Street Church of Christ, Vivian Street Baptist Church, and the Taranaki Street Methodist Church.

The procession left St. Mark's Church at 7 p.m. and proceeded up Adelaide Road, and via Drummond Street, Tasman Street, and Rugby Street, back to St. Mark's Church. Well-known hymns were sung and two short open-air services were held.

A combined service was held at St. Mark's Church, which was crowded. The clergs' of the six churches took part in the service. The preacher was the Rev. P. Paris, minister of ths Taranaki Street Methodist Church.
