A most enjoyable time was spent last evening by the many who attended the headquarters of the Kilbirnie, Lyall Bay, and Melrose Auxiliary Committee, W.R.£,A., in Bay Road, Kilbirnie, to take part in the weekly card tournament.
The successful players were Mrs. R. E. Leggett and Mr. D. Gilbut (bridge) and Mrs. S. Farrant and Mr. J. Stewart ("500"). During supper, which was served by members of the ladies' committee, Mr. D. Gunn, chairman of the auxiliary, requested all ladies interested to attend at the headquarters next Tuesday afternoon when the allocation of streets for Poppy Day would be arranged. He also took the opportunity of presenting the auxiliaries' billiard trophy to Mr. J. N. Wickens, the winner of the recent handicap tournament. The card alternoons arranged by the ladies' committee are proving popular, Mrs. A. Couper and Mrs. Pearson being the prizewinners at the one held lastiweek*
