Betting at the Wairarapa Meeting will be under the single pool, with two dividends in fields of five or more chances. Betting at the Feilding and Warpukurau Meetings will be under the single pool, with two dividends in. fields of five or more chances. Betting at the Greymouth and Kumara Meetings will be under the single pool, with two dividends in fields of five or more chances. The betting system at the Tuapeka and Beaumont Meetings nextsweekend will be the single pool with two dividends in fields of five or more chances. Four horses belonging to the estate of Miss A. Boyle, of Oamaru, were offered at auction last week. Queen Dorothy was passed in at 150 guineas, Golden Vision at 60 guineas, and Silver Lark at 50 guineas. Quite Soon was sold to Mr. M. Meehan for 65 guineas. The former New Zealand jockey E. Bosewarne, who returned recently after eight years in Melbourne, enjoyed his fir,st successes since his arrival back when he steered Delium and Sisterena to victory at Westport on ' Monday. He will next be riding at Tauherenikau on Saturday and Monday. L. Clifford will be riding at the Feilding Meeting on Saturday and Monday, where his mounts will include Ilias Waipiro, One Whetu, and Rust. The following additional riding engagements have been made for. the Auckland Meeting:—F. Fergus, Victor Colima, Sebrof, Town Beauty; D. J. Burgess, The Hiker, Thespis (second day); R. J. Fearn, Knight of Australia, Mainland. According to a southern report, Parasang, who will be one of the fancied runners for the Riverton Steeplechase, was bought at less than the price of a good hack. Gay Brunette, Gay Lot, and Impact have been withdrawn from the Great I Northern Champagne Stakes, and Gay Sheik and Erua from the Great Northern St. Leger Stakes. So far nothing definite has been decided as to where Lochlaggan will race at Easter. She is generally regarded as holding more than an ordinary chance in the Great Easter, but her owners' are young Southland sportsmen who may prefer to race her at the Riverton Meeting. The ■Trentham trainer A. Goodman has an addition to his stable in Clear Vision, an unraced four-year-old mare by Sky Blue from the Treadmill mare Footprint, dam previously of Alpina and Lancet. NighUass. as a result of her recent disappointing form, when she showed plenty of early speed but could not stay, has been turned out for a spell of three or four months. This filly has the conformation to make good yet, and it will not surprise if she comes back greatly benefited from her rest. Silver Sail, a winner at the Waimate Meeting last Saturday, was enjoying her first success as a three-year-old— indeed her first since she won the Irwell Handicap at the New Zealand Cup Meeting the year before last. She was got by Paper Money from the Tea Tray mare Tea Kettle, who descends from Otterden, the dam of Martian find Boniform. She was bought by her trainer T. Hobbs as a yearling for 140ga
