, Sir, —Your* correspondent "J.T." in his letter under the heading "Political Issues" says, "If my memory serves me correctly, more votes were cast against Labour than for that party." "J.T.'s" memory is certainly not at fault, in view of the figures that were published after the election, which showed that a big majority, nearly 70,000, of those who voted did not vote for the Labour Party. Therefore, it might be asked of those who claim that Labour has the overwhelming confidence of the people why the majority did not vote for them, as they had every opportunity of doing, as Labour candidates stood for all but a few seats.—l am, etc.,
