HOMING PIGEONS
The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society flew a flock race from Manunui recently, 170 miles airline. One hundred and four pigeons, representing eighteen members, were liberated by Mr. R. Patterson, who advised fine weather, but conditions at the home end were very foggy, which proved very trying for the birds. The following are the first eight placings, counting ior cup points:—W. Thomas's Supreme, 4h 53m 35.55, 1; B. Clements's Lady Black. 4h 54m 34.55, 2; C. Webster and Son's Grand Girl, 4h 54m 40.45, 3; R. Heyward's Razzle Dazzle, 4h 54m 52.245, 4; Dr. Gillie's Josephine, 4h 56m 20.25, 5; J. Iremonger and Son's Flying Helen, 4h 57m 32.35, G: W. Smith and Boxall's Dazzler, 4h 57m 565, 7; F. Flipp and Son's Ladybird, 5h 2m 11.475, 8. An interval race was also flown from Manunui, eighteen pigeons being liberated by Mr. R. Patterson singly at ten-minute intervals between each bird. This race proved a very hard one and resulted in a convincing win by L. Perkins's Racing Lady. The following are tne first five placings:—L. Perkins's Racing Lady, shr 23m 475, 1; C.
