HEAVY FEILDING ENTRY
GOOD PRICES FOR EWES
An exceptionally heavy yarding of station cattle at the Feilding livestock sale on Friday proved to be in excess of requirements. Prices were generally satisfactory, however, and other classes of stock sold well.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that some excellent lines of fat' lambs were yarded, the top price of 26s Id being realised for a line sold on account of Mr. J. Avery. Feilding. Fat lambs, on the whole, sold at about Is 3d per head above latest schedule rates. Only a few pens of wethers were yarded. A' fair yarding of store sheep met with a ready market, good breeding ewes selling well at prices fully up to late rates. Competition for lambs was irregular, though there was still a good inquiry for healthy sorts. The whole of the company's yarding was sold under the hammer at prices satisfactory to venders. Dairy heifers sold freely, a good demand resulting. Bun cattle did not meet with the sale that was generally anticipated. Competition, except for choice lines, was restricted to a certain extent.
