WEEKEND PLAY
MIHAMAR OPENING
About 180 golfers competed in the medal foursome bogey played at Miramar on Saturday afternoon, on the opening day of the winter season, and the professional, Mr. R. C. Butters, actually started over 200 players.
Most of the fairways and the greens were in good order, and conditions for play were almost ideal, as the weather, although threatening, remained fine, and there was little wind.
There were many visitors from other clubs. Manor Park was represented by Miss Bowling, Miss X, Kerr, E. Butler, and E. W. Brockets D. A. F. Crombie represented the Titahi Club, and C. A. Burgess, the club captain, L. A. Monkman, and Mrs. Monkman, were there from, the Hutt Club. D. Stratmore and Mrs. Stratmore (Mornington) and H. M. Dykes and Mrs. Dykes (Shandon) also competed.
The mixed foursomes resulted as follows:—Mr.'and Mrs. J. Houston (15), 4 up; E. Butler and Miss Bowling (16), all square;"' C. Parsloe- and Mrs. • Dalgleish (8), 1 down; C. H. Armstrong and Mrs. Farmer (8), 1 down; C. W. Mack and Mrs. Austin (13), 1 down; Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Dykes (16), .1 down; F. W. McKay and Mrs. Wright (11), 2 down; N. B. Pulver and Mrs. Roe (10), 2 down; M.. R. Moore and Miss Davis (8), 2 down.
