OPEN-AIR SCHOOL
BENEFIT OF SUNSHINE
(By Telegraph—Press Association,)
BLENHEIM,
April 5.
The first open-air type of school in the Wellington Education Board's district was opened at Springlands yesterday: by Mr. W. V. Dyer, chairman, of the board, who commented that the building represented a progressive step in school-building policy.
The new school replaces the building destroyed by fire. The pupils will occupy it on Monday, the exact anniversary of the fire. The school consists of three separate buildings fitted with folding doors, facing north to catch the full benefit of the sunshine. Windows occupy most of the remaining wall space.
