Keen racing characterised by close finishes was witnessed at the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting today- The weather was fine, and the course in excellent order. The fixture was well patronised, and the totalisator' handled £7262, against £6203 last year, an increase of £1059. The Hawke's Bay Cup furnished a fine finish in which very little separated the first four horses. Big Dook and Pladic dead-heated half a head in front of Haut. Monde, with Round Score almost- in line. Pakanui easily won the sprint, his eighth consecutive victory; and Royal Banquet scored an overdue win in the hack distance event.
