Mr. T. H. McCombs (Government, Lyttelton) gave notice to ask the Minister of Justice if he would take steps to prevent the publication of the names of persons as revealed in judicial proceedings.
Mr. H. Atmore (Independent, Nelson) gave notice lo ask the Prime Minister whether the Government would take the necessary steps to protect New Zealand chemists from the unfair competition of chain stores.
■ Mr. H. S. ,S. Kyle (Nationalist, Riocarton) gave notice to ask the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that the Labour Party stood for democratic government, he would put into operation the Act at present' on the Statute Book which provided for the election of members to the Upper House. Mr. R. .McKeen (Government, Wellington South): Quite clever. Mr. A. G. Hultquist (Government, ,Bay of Islands) gave notice to ask the Prime Minister whether he, as the Minister of Native Affairs, would amend the law so as to make the recovery of Native rates which were outstanding easier; and would he remove present anomalies which tended to aggravate the position.
