MR. O. F. NELSON
RETURN TO SAMOA
CONDITIONS STATED
"I desire to ask the Hon. the Prime Minister whether he has assured Mr. O. F. Nelson that he will be allowed to return to Samoa unconditionally, and if so, does he, not think it necessary to insist on the conditions that Mr. Nelson refrain from any agitation to stir up the Mau section of the Natives to obstruct the administration and the loyal Natives supporting them in their endeavour to maintain law and order in the territory?"
This question was put to the Prime Minister (the Hon. M. J. Savage) in the House of Representatives this afternoon, by way of urgency.
The Prime Minister said it was the intention of the Government to give effect to its election pledges and to do justice to the Samoan people. Mr. Nelson would return to .Samoa on the same terms as would govern the return of a New Zealand citizen to- the Dominion.
