WELLINGTON CAMERA CLUB

An interesting lecture was given to members of the Camera Club'recently, when MrvJ.'W. Chapman-Taylor spoke on "Lenses." A short description ,of some of the better-known lenses was followed by the showing of the effects obtained by the.use of various fVpes.of lenses, short focus, wide angle, arid telephoto. The lecturer answered several questions, and at the conclusion of his talk was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. :

"Seascape" was the subject of a recent competition, the results of which were:—Championship: R. JV Searle, 1; J. W. Johnson, 2. A grade: R. J. Searle; 1; J. W. Johnson, 2 and 3. B grade: H. C. McDonald, 1; W. Abbott, 2; H. C. McDonald, 3. Mr. E. T. Robson gave a short-talk on seascape photography, and,described some of the difficulties encountered. He then,- criticised, the pictures exhibited, arid also spokeon the prints. Mr. Robson was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. .

The series of talks for beginners has commenced, and ;two short lectures have been given: "How to Use the Camera" and "Developing the Negative." The next talk of this series will be on contact printing.
