BROOKLYN FIRE BRIGADE CLUB

The sixth annual meeting iof the Brooklyn Fire Brigade Chess Club was held recently in the clubroom, Mr. JI. Goldsmith presiding over an attendance of seventeen members. Mr. Goldsmith expressed thanks to all executive officers for their work and cooperation for the past, season, to the station staff of the brigade for the r assistance, and to Mr. Fouhy for his special interest in the club's welfare. He also congratulated the B. grade and C grade teams on their play in the Wellington Chess League's tourney and the players who represented the club in the champion of champions match. The performance of H. S. J. Tilly, who won the C grade champKut-of-cham-pions tourney of Wellington, at the age of only sixteen years, his. play being of very high standard, deserve* special mention. The following officers were elected.;— Patron. Mr. Woolley, brigade superintendent; president, Mr. J. I. Goldsmith; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Fouhy and E. Bruce; secretary, Mr. ¥. McCrone; treasurer, Mr. E. Hubbard; librarian, Mr. J. Campbell; auditor, Mr. M. Thawley; management committee, Messrs. W,. Kitchenyman, W. Bosher, and E. Braines; match committee, Messrs. Elliston, Webster, and Kirkwood; delegates to Wellington Chess . League, Messrs. IF. McCrone and W. Kirkwood. The official opening night was' fixed for I Saturday, April 4, play to be a lightining tourney- ' .
