LONDON, March 31
The "Daily Telegraph's" naval writer says that the greatest naval construction programme Britain has ever undertaken will be commenced before the end of this year, when the following ships will be laid down: — Two battleships, five cruisers, one aircraft carrier, twelve destroyers, and a number of submarines and.
sloops. Three further cruisers are expected to be ordered in the summer of 1937.
The total tonnage, 175,000, will cost £35,000,000.
