EAST GIRLS' COLLEGE
PARENTS' ASSOCIATION
A full attendance marked the first meeting of the new executive committee of the Wellington East Girls' College Parents' Association. The chairman (Mr. C. E. Proctor) reported that a deputation had met the chairman of the board of governors (Mr. G. Mitchell) to stress the very definite support of the association for the proposal to complete the college assembly hall. The meeting enthusiastically endorsed the action taken and resolved to concentrate its efforts this year on raising what might be considered a reasonable contribution by the parents towards this important feature of the school life and tradition, provided there was evidence that the project could be completed. A college hall committee was set up consisting of the chairman and Messrs. E. Hulbert, W. F. Stock, L. G. P. Whyte, and F. E. Greenish. Social and publicity sub-committees were also set up.
It was agreed that the whole committee be a visiting committee for the present month and that a meeting to view the grounds and discuss suggested improvements be held on the following Saturday; also, that an invitation be extended to parents to join the committee on this occasion.
