AWAPUNI RACECOURSE

(Special from "Rarigatira.")

. PALMERSTON N., This. Day. ' Awapuni Racecourse has been very; rapidly restored to. its former, order after the destruction done by the cyclone nearly two months ago, and the only evidence of the storm remaining to remind patrons at the Manawatu Racing Club's Autumn Meeting today, is that two public stands are still without permanent roofs.' • The members' stand has been temporarily covered with a tarpaulin roof, but the weather, though dull, is fine.and mild. The course otherwise is in splendid order. The jockeys are wearing black armbands as a mark of respect to the lata Roy Reed.
