NEW ZEALAND SYMPATHY

The following message was dispatched by the Governor-General to Lord Borodale in connection with the death of his father (Earl. Beatty): —"The Government .and people of New Zealand, with whom Lady Galway and I desire to associate ourselves, wish to express most\ profound sorrow at the passing of your father, Earl Beatty, and to convey deepest sympathy with you in the great loss you have sustained. All in New Zealand hope that you will find consolation in the knowledge^ the outstanding service he has rendered to the Empire."

His Excellency received the following reply today: "Deeply touched by kind message from Government and people of New Zealand conveyed in your Excellency's telegram. (SgdJ Borodale."
