STRANGE BURIAL PLACE
Fru Nina Grieg, widow of the famous composer, •who recently died, at the age of ninety; while not reckoned as a great singer in her.day, had: a■■captivating abandon, dramatic vivacity, and soulfulness that were reminiscent of Jenny Lind, states the "Daily Telegraph." She made her last public appearance in London with, her .famous husband m 1893, when the artist pair gave one of their piano and song recitals. Fru. Grieg's burial place will be that of her husband, which is as romantic as his music. His ashes lie, at his own request, near his old home, close to Bergen. Not far away is a steep cliff, fifty feet high, projecting into a fiord. Halfway up there is a natural grotto, which can be approached only by boat. In this spot rests his urn, and a stone slab with the words "Edvard Grieg" cut upon it is cemented in the cliff.
