GAY CHIEF'S NEXT RACE

HAWERA, February 11. " Although not accepted for the first day at the Egmont Meeting, Gay Chief is to run on the concluding day. His owner, Mr. F. Ehrhorn,. intends taking him on another northern tour immediately on the conclusion of the meeting.
J. Brown took the Nigger Minstrel — Slackline filly Shemseh on an educational trip to. New Plymouth,' intending to start her in the Taranaki Stakes. The youngster did not do as well as expected, and the idea was abandoned. Shemseh is now to race at Te Aroha, where the roomy track will be in her favour.
Whenuakura's full-relative Link Divine is- reported from Melbourne to be in fine shape for her next start, •which will be in the mile Doncaster Handicap, at Randwick at Easter.
