RUGBY TOURISTS WIN AGAIN
NARA, February 11. The New Zealand University Rugby team defeated Combined Western Universities by 23 points'to 8 in a fast and open game at Hanazono. Stace, Wild, Gillies, and McAuliffe scored for the winners and Tricklebank, whose kicking was a feature of the game, converted all the tries and kicked a penalty goal.
The team was superior in all departments, though it was guilty of a number of infringements. It was as follows: Tricklebank; Watt, Wild, Grant; Lewis, Gillies; McAuliffe; Faney, Burke, Wilson, Hudson, Simpers, Drake, Stace, Eade.
The team is now spending a quiet time seeing the sights of Nara and Kioto before the final Test next Sunday. The members are enjoying the quiet and beautiful surroundings of the old capital after the heavy but delightful programme at Tokio. The team was pleased to receive its first home mail today.
