STAYING MEANWHILE
ZANE GREY IN AUSTRALIA
PROTEST OF S.P.C.A,
SYDNEY, February 10.
Mr. Zane Grey's manager said today that whether Mr. Grey decided to leave Australia or stay depended on whether there were any further developments in the protest of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals against, the alleged cruelty of big-game fishing.. Mr. Grey was staying in the meantime, at any rate.
A Sydney cable dated February 7 stated that fishermen were perturbed over the attitude of the Eoyal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals towards big-game fishing. Mr. S. A. Lord, secretary of the society, said it regarded it as wantonly cruel sport, which served no purpose other than to give a few fishermen thrills and mental pleasure. Mr. Zane Grey, according to the "Telegraph's" Bermagui correspondent, said that if he could not fish in peace in Australia he would have to go fishing elsewhere.
