PRICES FOR LIVESTOCK

SATISFACTORY LOCAL SALE

There were no marked changes in prices at the livestock sales held in the Dominion yesterday, although fat cattle and store lambs were cheaper at Addington. The local sale attracted average yardings which sold on a par with late rates.

In spite of the storm the yarding was fully up to requirements at the Westfield sale. No stock from north of Helensville arrived, but local and near Waikato farms were well represented. A good demand existed, and there was no sign of an casing market for prime stock, but unfinished sorts in several classes were somewhat weaker.

At the Burnside sale prices for fat cattle were easier; vealers met with better demand; prices for sheep remained firm and lambs sold at full schedule rates.
