For an off day there was an excellent attendance at the Park, and the public appeared always to be enjoying the sport. The weather was a little windy, but otherwise fine and congenial, the track being in splendid order after the recent rains. . The reinstitution of the win-and-place system of betting assisted the club to experience a very satisfactory opening day, but the time schedule could not be kept, and the last race was run just an hour late, the time of conclusion being 6.10 p.m. instead of 510 p.m. For the day the investments amounted to £11,602 (£5275 10s win, £6326 10s place), which, although there is no strict comparison, measures excellently against the £12,487 and the £11,664 15s put through ?.t the u anuary and February Meetings respectively last year, both Saturdays. | Results of the racing were:— Preliminary Handicap Trot, £120; ""I1. 0. 1?" pled trotters; 3.42 class; 1% miles.—i-- «<.
