ATHLETES IN GERMANY
Herr yon Tschammer und Osten, the German sports leader, spoke at a dinner given in London by the AngloGerman Fellowship during the visit of the German football team.' He said that the language of sport was international. Sport was more effective than any amount of good advice, and was an educative and cultural force of the first order. Germans went in for sport because they enjoyed it. They did so voluntarily, and while he held his present position he would see that that continued. There were now 7,000,000 men and women in the German Reich who had every opportunity of taking part in sporting activities. An organisation had been started to enable men and wpmen irr factories, shops, offices, and niines to go in for sport at very low cost. In under two years over 2,000,000 men and women had been enabled to take up some pastime.
