AUSTRALIAN PLANS

SYDNEY, January 24.

. Following the announcement that King Edward did not desire the proclaiming of January 28 as a day of mourning, the Federal Government rescinded the proclamation declaring a public holiday. Public departments will be open as usual, and the request that the day be observed as a close holiday has been withdrawn. Religious services arranged for Tuesday will be held and two minutes' solemn silence will be observed everywhere at 11 a.m.
