FEILDING, January 24.

The stock sale today was marked by a keen demand for store lambs, and prices were very close to export schedules, but in spite of. the fact that over eight. thousand . were yarded, the market is still unsatisfactory. Venders had the.market, all their-own ; way,.with, excellent prospects. There Was also a good sale for fat sheep, there being' a very small yarding, with prices for'all grades very firrriL A heavy yarding: of store cattle met a very ; good saje, especially for run cattle. Fat sheep: Prime heavy wethers, 2.43 to 24s Id; lighter,. 235; prime; hoggets, to 23s lOd; light, 225; prime lambs, 22s 7d; good, to 21s- fair, 19s to 19s lOd; prime ewes, to 17s 6d; very good, to 17s 3d: fair, to 16s 3d; light, from 13s 3d; prime two-tooths, 18s to 22s 4d; prime b.f.'s, 21s 6d. .
