DESTROYED BY FIRE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day.

Fire shortly after midnight destroyed a joinery factory owned by the Whalley Estate and occupied by Mr. E. A. Hay, of Jersey Lane, off Fitzherbert Avenue. The damage to the machinery and contents alone is estimated at £1000. Insurances are held on both the buildings and the contents, but Mr. Hay is a heavy loser. The building was an old wooden one, close to the main business area, but the brigade isolated the outbreak.
