HARBOUR BOARD SYMPATHY

TRIBUTES PAID

' On account of the death of King George, only urgent business was dealt with by. the Harbour Board at last night's meeting. Reference to the. death of his Majesty was made by the chairman iMr. T. R. Earrer), who said that the King had been a source of inspiration to his people, irrespective of class, creed, and political thought. He moved the following motion, which was carried, members standing in silence: —

"That the Wellington Harbour Board, having received with deepest regret the news of the death of his Gracious Majesty, King George V, desires to place on record its sympathy with the members of the Royal Family and its expression of sorrow at the great loss the British Commonwealth of Nations has sustained, and resolves that, as a mark.of reverence to the memory of our great and much-beloved Sovereign, this meeting be now adjourned."
