SOCIAL AND DANCE
SEAMEN ENTERTAINED
A very pleasant social and dance was held at the A.M.I.C. rooms, Vivian Street, recently. Those who contributed to the programme were:—Mrs. Treacy and Miss O'Donnell, who sang several songs; Miss Laird, who played some popular airs on the mouth organ; Miss Hazel Martin and Miss Pat Treacy, both of whom gave a clever exhibition of tap dancing; and Miss Jeane Coker, who caused much amusement with a humorous' monologue. Mr.' Pat Bell made an efficient accompanist, and" also supplied all the dance music.
A large number of men from the various ships in port (Orari, Cornwallis, Coptic, Remuera, Tairoa, John Knudsen, and Part Adelaide) thoroughly enjoyed the party and the plentiful supper which was supplied and served by the ladies' committee. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and of the National Anthem brought another happy evening to a close.
