WEST COAST TOUR

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HOKITIKA, This Day.

The Hon. R. Semple and the Hon. P. C. Webb, who are paying an official visit to Westland, yesterday made a number of visits of inspection at various centres. Today they are visiting Kokatahi Valley, and will afterwards proceed to South Westland. Last evening deputations were received, and a long list of requirements brought under notice. Mr. Semple outlined the public works policy with relation to relief, and Mr. Webb congratulated the mining executive of Westland on the work done during its existence, stating that no other executive had done such excellent work.

Regarding the cessation of exploratory work on the hydro-electric scheme at Onepoto, Lake Waikaremoana,* Mr. Semple declined to comment, reserving his statement till he had inspected the position again.
