VICEREGAL,
The Governor-General, Lord Galway, who was making his first visit to the Bay of Islands, spent Thursday iri biggame fishing at Deepwater Cove. His Excellency left the Government steamer Matai about 9 a.m. in Mr. White Wickham's launch Ozone, and was on the fishing grounds until about 5 p.m. He was not, however, successful. In the evening he dined at Deepwater Cove as Mr. White Wickham's guest. His Excellency returned t° Auckland last evening.
The Hon. R. Masters, M.L.C., arrived in Wellington from the south this morning.
Mr. P. J. O'Regan, who has been spending the legal vacation on the West Coast, returned to Wellington this morning.
