FAIR WEATHER STILL
SHOWERS LIKELY TOMORROW
Special forecast for Wellington:— Moderate north-westerly winds, freshening gradually. Weather mainly fair to cloudy and warm, but a light shower or two is possible tomorrow. The forecast for the whole Dominion issued at noon today is for moderate and variable -• winds at first, with northerlies to north-westerlies gradually prevailing and increasing about and south of Cook Strait. Weather for the most part will be still fair to fine and warm, but scattered rains are developing on the west coast of the South Island and in the far south. j There has been a continuance of fair or fine weather over the Dominion, the only rain reported being a few scattered showers in Westland and the far south. Winds have been variable and generally light to moderate, but this morning north-westerlies predominated, especially' in exposed positions. There has been a moderate fall of pressure over the New Zealand area. The weather has remained fine and warm at Auckland, with a variable south-westerly wind prevailing. Though it was cloudy at times, fine weather has prevailed at Wellington, with a moderate northerly breeze. There were 9.2 hours of sunshine yesterday. At Christchurch yesterday it was fine and clear, with a maximum temperature of 73.8 degrees. This morning it was overcast. A moderate north-easterly breeze is prevailing. Dunedin had fair weather yesterday, but this morning it was foggy in places. The wind has been light and variable, with a north-easterly predominating.
