SANDERS CUP CONTEST
THE AILEEN FOR AUCKLAND
A decision- to name;|rfr. C. .Clare's 14ft Jellicoe class boat Aileen as' the Auckland challenger for the 1936 Sanders Cup contest has been made by the Auckland Sanders Cup committee. .Mr. A. Willetts, who has been sailing the Aileen so successfully this season, was appointed skipper . of; the. craft, and the selection of the crew was left entirely in his hands-(says the "New Zealand Herald"). ' • ; . ; '/ The contest is to commence .at Auckland on Tuesday, January 28, and, with the exception of Anniversary Regatta day, January 29, the-racing •will continue until the. contest is decided. Prior to the commencement of the contest a conference of two delegates from each of the competing provinces will meet at the Royal. New Zealand Yacht Squadron's rooms to, complete arrangements and to decide th.c rules and conditions governing the contest.
