SEAMEN'S STRIKE

QUIET OVER HOLIDAYS

MEETING ON TUESDAY

SYDNEY, December 26.

There have been no developments in the shipping strike during the holidays. Ship owners have abandoned until after the holidays further attempts to man vessels still remaining idle, and it is not expected that a serious attempt will be made to find .crews for the interstate passenger fleet for at least a week.

Strike leaders have convened a mass meeting of seamen for next Tuesday, when the strike position- will be reviewed. It is reported that an attempt will be made to induce the crew of the Aorangi to join the strikers after the liner's arrival. They will be invited to attend the meeting on Tuesday.'
