Twenty-two of those who were injured are in a critical condition. ; Fifty others were injured to a varying degree. The accident; which was reported yesterday, occurred when the BerlinFrankfurt express crashed into the rear of a local train near Grossheringen.' The last coach of the local train was smashed to fragments and all the occupants are believed to be killed. It is believed the driver of the express overlooked the'fact that the signals were set against him. The collision occurred on a bridge over the river Saale. The express, which was hurtling along behind two powerful engines, making up lost time, hurled one carriage of the local train into the stream, flung another across the bridge railing, and telescoped six more.
