STRONG AUCKLAND HAND
An excellent list of acceptances, made up of district horses with a considerable infusion of strength from the .Auckland Province, will contest the programme on the opening day of the Taranaki Jockey Club's Summer Meeting at New Plymouth on Thursday. The course is reported to be in first-class order. The fixture will be concluded on Saturday. This club, which was the fir,st to introduce the win-and-place system of betting into the Dominion, has continued with the mode ever since, and this will be the system operating this week. The following horses will command the attention of investors:— Rahotu Hurdles,—Soloist and Grand' Score. Huatoki 'Plate.—Supreme Court, Gay Poto, -and Contract. Borough Juvenile Handicap.—Tonnerre,' Ned Cuttle, and Gay Talkie. Flying Handicap.—Lady Kyra and Courtega (or Glenvane). Uruti Hack Handicap.—Orac, Tua-heahef,-and Lady Eka. Christmas-Handicap.—Silk Sox and Alchemic. Tikorangi Hack Stakes.—Tooley Street-Horotiu bracket, Te Hai, and The Sandwich Man.
