'W GOOD FORTUNE"

£2000 TO WHAKATANE

WELLINGTON UNLUCKY

The appropriate norn cle plume of "Happy"' was chosen by the winner of the first prize in the "My Good Fortune" art union which was drawn in the Town Hall today. The ticket number was 86954, and the holder is a Whakatane resident. Once again Wellington "was not in-the big prizes, a few miner prizes only going to local investors. . Swond prize of £500 was drawn by "Xnias Box,". Mrs. C. G. Allen, Nelson. It- was the last of the thirty-five major prizes to be drawn; 'Ticket number 123576 won the third prize of £200, the norn de plume being "Lucky Last," and the address 9 Royce Avenue, Mount Eden. A Mr. Morris, of Morrinsville, secured fourth prize of £100, and the fifth prize of £75 was won .by Mary Janet, care of J. D. Tod, Nuhaka. ' There were the usual interested spectators. The draw-was conducted by Messrs. N. McArthur and B. L. Hammond. Mr. J. W. Hutchen represented the Internal Affairs Department and Sergeant J. Mclntosh the Police Department. .... - ......
